Lesson Fail
One of my students needed to record an audition tonight, so I took my microphone and Macbook over there so we could record.  4 hours later, and I’m finally home. Amount they paid me for my time:  $0.

House Stuff
We have to be at the model house in 2 hours, and honestly, I haven’t been this nervous since the day I proposed to Jamie.

Today's Agenda
-  Take the dog to get a haircut (the reason I’m up so early - the dog’s appointment is at 8am). - Sign paperwork to build a house. - Write largest check I’ve ever written. - Take picture where our new home will be. - Teach clarinet lesson - Celebrate the excitingness by either playing mini-golf (free) or going to the Indians game (not free).

Grr to Lesson Students
I teach private clarinet lessons.  I hate it when I drive to one of my students’ houses, and they say “Oh my mom didn’t call you?  We need to cancel today.” I still charge people for these lessons.  If I drive over there and you can’t have a lesson, you still pay.  It’s wasting my time.

The builder accepted our offer for the house.  We will be going in to sign papers in the next couple of days! Very excited right now.

A Revised Offer
I sent a scathing email to our realtor for him to use in our next offer to our builder, dispelling all their arguments for why they have no room to negotiate.  My favorite was: “The reduction in base prices by nearly $25-30k was again a direct reflection of the market, reduction in material costs and a reduction in labor through our employed subcontractors. We are at cost on the base prices...

– Beth & I have pushed off seeing anything at TPAC since we moved. Both of us have wanted to see Wicked for a long time and decided that even though money is tight now, we wouldn’t have the option to buy the tickets when September rolls around. Now or never… (via neuski) You will love it!  One of...

Recital FTW
fmylife: Today, was my music recital. I was playing and sneezed really loud into my saxophone which made the mouthpiece blurt out of my mouth. I have a neck strap and as the saxophone came back towards me the mouthpiece hit me in the head. I knocked myself out in front of the audience. FML

The builder did not accept our offer, and didn’t even budge at all on price. Time to play hardball.

fmylife: Today, my mother came up to me a swim meet and shouted to me in the bleachers “If you have to go potty, go now because there is a long line!”. I’m seventeen. FML Something my mom would have done when I was 17.

“It’s the kind of shot that makes you forget about that Jordan fella…”
– -Sportscenter Anchor. I strongly disagree.  Jordan made tons of these types of shots.  LeBron didn’t even make his first game-winner until this season.  Yes, last night’s shot was awesome.  But it does not surpass Jordan.

"Point"less
junior02157: The Starlight Experience on the Frontier Trail makes about as much sense as the plot to Disaster Transport.  Way too many Christmas lights strewn through the trees, a few Peanuts floats shoved in the middle of the midway, and a Yanni soundtrack playing in the background.  What were they thinking? The barn and the cabins look nice with their red, white, and blue lights.  The trees...

Distracted
I am very distracted at work today. I am waiting to hear back from our builder if they accepted our offer, and am also waiting to hear back from the bank for pre-approval, but that shouldn’t be a problem, hopefully. To top it off, I am ready for a three day weekend and engagement photos @ CP on Monday!

Remember us?
jamiea: Our realtor sent in an offer last night to the builder’s agent to begin negotiations for our house.  He heard back today - she didn’t remember the last quote she sent us.  Our realtor had to provide it to her.  She didn’t say anything about the offer, lot, or requests. Is this good or bad? I still can’t believe she didn’t remember the last quote or have it on file (she sent it to us as...

Best. Idol. Ever.
KISS, Queen, Lionel Richie, Rod Stewart, Queen Latifah, Cyndi Lauper, etc. The only thing that would have made it better is if Adam would have won. Oh well - he doesn’t have to release the terrible Kara song now.  Adam FTW.
